Ian S Duthie runs a 2 surgery family dental practice situated in Addiscombe Road in Croydon. The purpose of the practice is to provide first class dentistry for all patients and who they treat as friends. The three cornerstones of the practice are care, professionalism and understanding. They believe dental treatment should be carried out in gentle manner creating minimum discomfort for the patient. As a dental team they take pride in their chosen profession and regularly attend courses to further their knowledge.

Ian Duthie qualified from Kings College Hospital, Dental school in December 1979. Whilst studying at Kings he met Kim who was also at Kings training to be a dental nurse. They married in 1982 and opened their single handed dental practice on 17th May 1988. In 1993, they expanded to their present size of 2 surgeries to enable them to incorporate Kim's dad's ( John Holroyd ) practice on his retirement. Ian subsequently went on to study for the Royal College of Surgeons MFGDP which he successfully completed in 2000. He has been on the Local Dental Committee for 20 years and Chairman since 2006. He was Chairman of the Croydon Branch of the BDA between 1990— 1992
